I'd love to have an oscar or some african cichlids but unfornately I don't have a big enough tank right now. That and I don't have to space or money for a large tank that they would need. I was wondering what kind of predatory fish could I keep in a 20 gallon tank. You see I have an empty 20 gallon tank. Right now it's in the shed outside for the time being.
I'd really like to set it up sometime. But I wanted some ideas of what type of predatory fish that could go in it.

Exodons would be fine for a little while.. but unfortunately that small of a tank cannot hold many predatory fish for long...

if you want african cichlids, try zebra cichlids. They are acually not zebra striped, but orange in color (said it's due to selecive breeding) and they are not really voracious cichlids when it comes to big mouths, and take downs of large prey but when it comes to attitudes, they are one of the meanest ones i have ever kept; they also don't grow too big, and three or four should fit into your 20g with no problems, and provide them with lots of rock and crevices.

i have a pair of convicts in my 20 long... they're fun to watch. i'd reccomend them.

they're going to go into a bigger tank though and i'm going to use the 20 as a QT

dwarf puffers

dwarf puffers, ctenopomas, cons, firemouth maybe?
they're not predatory but rams & kribs
