I have a metal stand conceived to support a 20 gallons tank. The stand is 12 iches wide by 21 inches long I think. Is it possible to modify it by placing a 1 inch plywood sheet on it so that it can hold a 30 gallons tank that is longuer and wider than the 20 galons (13 inches by 33 inches) ?

I wouldn't try it if its a glass tank. The entire weight of a glass tank rests on the black frame around the bottom, with the tank being larger than the stand all the weight will be on the wood. Your better of building a 2x4 stand.
