Hi there,
Im in the process of buyin a new tank and have a opportunity for a 200gal with 70 gal sump/refug.
Im hoping to put this tank upstairs in my living room.
My house was just built this year and has 14 inches between joists.
the joists are the newer engineered style.
I was hoping to place this against a non load bearing wall and unfortunently the joists run parralel with the fish tank in this area.

My basic thoughts on this are... Impossible

Would anyone have any feedback on this?

The stand is wood cabinet style

You should either have it on a load bearing wall or running across the joists.

Looking for trouble if you do that, have seen guys where they have placed 180 without sump, the floor actually sank. oops!!! he later added telepost below so it would fall through. cheers

Don't do it!

if it is a new house then whoever did the carpentry should be able to tell ya the max load you could do. or possibly go back in and reinforce that section to suit your needs.
