I never thought to ask this, but I too had contemplated a walk in visit. Bump to get this answered...

I have just picked up some fish from these guys last monday. so this is what i Know.

If you want to get ahold of them call them. You'll more then likely get karen (she's a great lady) If you want to order fish to get shipped you have to be in an area that they DO NOT supply to a retail store. they don't want to tick off there big buyers. So hope you live in the boonies like myself and they are more then willing to help you out.

I made the 3 hour plus drive to get what I wanted and it was worth it. but i'm not sure about the min. order on walk ins b/c I ended up with almost 1K in fish when it was all said and done. But if you're looking for something either rare or large it's not hard to get $200 order.

that may or maynot help but I tried b/c they don't frequent here like I wish they would.

i believe they say $200 minimum for shipping because they want your purchase to be worthy to be shipped.
i'm guessing walk-ins are a different story

I was just on aquabid.com and looking at a EBJD from them and under it was 12.50 for buyout and said $20 shipping to all 50 states. Sooo i went on their site and was looking at their stocking list and at the bottom i read "$200 min. for local orders"

Im in PA and would luv to go there, but i am looking for 2 cons and a JD or GT and they don't add up to $200 lol

i live in pa as well and i just called to ask about a walk in visit. I was told that i had to have a vendors license for them to let me inside the store.

I recently called about a walk in visit to get a fish that my local stores will not get. I was told no way I could stop in and purchase.

They may have issues with their licensing that is preventing that. If they are strictly a wholesaler and are not licensed for retail, then they may just be following the rules. Just a random observation. Its either that or insurance purposes. They might be able to get away with a bit more over the Internet.

If you want to order from them, You have to make a purchase of 250 or more. But on aquabid, they have to honor that auction price so it does not have tobe over 200 on aquabid. I spoke with Joe and Karen and this is how they explained it to me.

True.

You don't need to spend that much on them with aqua bid.

But I have been in there and the only reason that I was let in was b/c They do not supply to any shops that are near me so I could go in there and buy stuff and I would not be taking money away from there supplied businesses. they are just trying to watch the profit margins.
