I started the same thread on a local site, but felt I could get a lot of information on here since there are tons more people with large tanks on this site. I did a lot of searching online and talked to several retailers and finely came to a decision. I decided to go with a new tank since this will be on display at my business and didnt want to setup a used tank that already had defects. I ordered a 200g reef ready, 72x24x27", from Deep Sea Aquatic with a black stand & canopy from their sister company(don't know the name). Shoould arrive in about 2-3 weeks.

I already purchased a used aqua clear 200 wet dry(with skimmer hole) run by a Mag 9.5 pump. I also bought (2) Jager 300w heaters which i plan to put in the skimmer hole of the wet/dry. This will not be enough filtration for my tank so I am planning to add an Eheim 2262. I may add a second canister filter but I dont feel it is necessary until the tank is fully stocked and I see how much mess is made.

This tank will be an African Cichlid mixed tank, but have been considering the addition of a few Leopard Eels or possibly an Mbu Puffer. Only issue with the puffer is that they seem to grow so quick and don't want to worry about him nipping off the fins of all my fish.

a few questions I have already come up with.....
-if I dont get a puffer, can adult jumbo cyps go in the same tank as Frontosa's and malawi haps/peacocks?

-After putting a level to the area where my tank will go it appears that floor slants down as it comes away from the wall. I'm guess it is about 1/8-1/4" off. What methods have yall used with success to level the floor below the stand?

-What kind of lighting works well with a tank of this size?

Sounds pricey! I'd just use some shims..

I like LED lights.. you'd want to look at something in the 10-15k range for your setup, or I would at least Those lights will be more white/blue than yellow.
I get all my LEDS off ebay from topdawg seller. Just type in 72" LED aquarium light and you should find some options.
