Im not sure this is in the right place but here it goes I got a 20g critter cage it doesnt have steel bars its a tank and on the bottom it says do not fill with water dos anyone know why ? thanks
i'm nto sure on this but this is my take on it
1. they don't use the aquarium sealant on the joints
2. the thickness of the glass will prolly not support the weight of the water
thats my best guess so i would advise u NOT to try it terariums are for critters for a reason and aquariums are for fish for a reason
Yea, I agree with koop, it probably isn't thick enough to support water up to the rim. I suggest you go to craigslist or eBay; they usually have empty fish tanks for about a dollar a gallon.
im thinking everything should work its just the silicone but then again it should be aquariumgrade because some critters are varry sensitive i duno i might try it for a cuple of weeks in the tub with some feeders in it
try it if u want to but i still don't think it is wise you MIGHT and let me stress MIGHT get this to work b/c it is a fairly small tank but u still are going to have to support about 200lbs. do u know how think the glass is ?
bottom it says do not fill with water dos anyone know why ?Insurance and warranty reasons.
The biggest difference is the thickness of the glass.Critter cages are not designed to hold the water pressure.
Can you fill it with water sure.but you have no recourse if it doesn't hold and causes damage-Anne
I would think since there is a lack of bracing all you have to rely on is the silicone. I have an empty 20gL critter cage that I am afraid to put fish in... thinking about geckos.
putting it side by side to one of my fish tanks they look the same black rims and everything im starting to think if they put that sticker on it they could be useing it to make money look at the 3rd post telling me i should buy another tank people want crazy money for tanks here and i got this one for $20 bucks
thanks for all your posts
