I have a spare 20h laying around and I’m debating doing a basic reef with maybe a clown and some easy corals, a pair of J. Transcriptus or a trio of Carolina Anoles.
What do you guys think?
Any other ideas? Fish or reptile are fine

Shelldwellers are fun. Especially gold ocellatus…huge attitude in tiny bodies. Also have multies but they are boring in comparison. The only upside is that the multies are step breeders so it’s fun to see multiple generations together.

Love julies but just a pair gets boring.

Can’t go wrong with clownfish and corals: maybe a rose bubble tip anemone, some ricordia, zoas, Xenia, and other easy corals would be fun

Thanks, I do like the idea of a generational tank with multies. I have kept ocellatus and they were a lot of fun. I’m not overly experienced with julies, do they eat their fry or do they care for them?
For the reef I was thinking mushrooms, zoas, xenia, Kenya tree and GSP…maybe not all but some of those. I don’t trust myself not to kill an anemone and wipe out the tank lol

Julies care for their fry but the older fry will eat the younger ones. Multies are step breeders so each generation of fry will take care of the next.

I’d rather get ricordia rather than mushrooms…they look so much nicer. And if you don’t want an anemone, you could try a torch or frogspawn coral. I’ve had clowns inhabit those in place of anemones

Biggest issue with an anemone in that size tank is it moving around and stinging your corals. A rock flower would be fine but wouldn’t host clowns.
All the corals you mentioned would do fine - my pair of clowns lived in a torch for a while until I got a bta.

You’re right, those ricordia are amazing!

Looks great!
How many are in there? My green is in around that size and I can’t imagine him with others (very aggressive).

Thanks!
There’s 4, they were all together in 5 at PetSmart, so I bought them all, so far so good.
I’m adding more decor tonight until I get around to the bioactive setup

I’ve added a lot more artificial decor for now, I haven’t seen any aggression and I’m hoping this keeps it that way until I do the permanent setup
