could i keep like 3 altolamprogus calvus cichlids in a 20 high?...this thing i read about them said a could... if not are there any other africans i could keep?

You could if they were small. When bigger I think a little longer tank would be better.
I have 5 in a 10 Gal. They are only 1 to 1 1/2 inch fish. They grow very very very slow. They will move to a 30 gal later.

you can grow them out in the 20, but as a permanent fish, i'd go with neolamprologus ocellatus, one of the most lively and entertaining fish i've ever had, and easy to breed
electric johanni cichlids would go well in a 20 g they only get 4 inches and are not teribbley aggressive. so u can get tank mates.
thanks for all of the help....im thinking of growing them out and maybe getting a pair out of them
