20gal reef??

So I want to do a 20 gal reef tank to keep in my room. I have spare tanks around from when I used to have snakes and such. Other than cleaning them very well with hot water and soap followed by many rinses, what would I have to do to make one of these tanks work? What about lights and stocking?

I would never use soap, use vinegar. If you plan on keeping corals I would suggest at least a 150w Metal halide light. Stocking is up to you, what you like. Just research on compatibility.

Never clean with soap. Only vinegar.

T5 lighting is just fine if you have enough.

don't use soap use 1 part bleach and 10 parts water. What kinda coral's you looking to stock then you can go by that to determine your lighting requirement's.

did these tanks start out as reptile or fish? reptile tanks are alot thinner and may break when fully filled.
