how long should i run the lights for? to be good for the plants i have, i have dwarf baby tears, crypt parva,micro swords narrow leaf, and glossostigma. the dwarf baby tears are growing but some of the tears are turning a yellowish color what is causing it?

like he said, lower the time of the lights being on, or lower the intensity of them ( raise the light a bit ? as he said more water changes for near future, plant more plants so that they can win the fight over the nutrients with the algae, less feeding of the fish, add water current hmmm what else ? =) try this first it will help !

get a pleco ?! =) or / and SAE !

good luck

forgot to add ----> http://www.thekrib.com/Plants/Fertilizer/nutrient-deficiency.html

yellowing of the leaves = one or another deficiency, since you got algae I would say do not use liquid ferts, use "plant tabs" instead, they work real good.

how long to run the lights for - well now that you got algae you can lower thetime to ... 5-6h ? nothing will happen to your plants if you do that for some time, yet it may help getting rid of algae ;)
