I decided to take a video of my 210g tonight after a water change. There are a few types of severums, two species of wild-caught Geophagus, a pike, and a trio of a West African species. Can you figure them all out? ;) The psittacus parrot is a given, of course. He's been in this tank for a few years and continues to be my wet pet. I got a pretty good yawning shot near the end.

I apologize for the dirty glass. I didn't feel like scrubbing the inside down tonight. Usually there's so much chasing and fighting going on that it's hard to make a video, but I caught them right before lights out and most of them had started to calm down for the night as you can see. Also, one of the severums has a mouthful of fry, which as you can see has caused a lot of torn fins and damaged bodies on the other sevs in the tank. It'd be nice if they didn't breed every 14 days or so year-round. :irked:

I really need a good HD camera.

Very nice Ryan. Your fish look great. What are those 3 W. Africans? I know next to nothing about fish from across the pond.

Pelmatochromis nigrofasciatus. Mine are a bit washed out in the video because they've only been in the tank for a day. They were previously in their own tank and were showing their colors better. I hope once they settle in, they'll color up again. Look them up -- really cool fish. Very South American looking, which is what got me interested in the first place.

My psittacus was a lot easier to deal with when he was in the 4 - 8" range. Now it's nearly impossible to introduce new tankmates. Don't let his passivity in this video fool you... he was winding down for the night. He is almost constantly chasing and nipping my Atabapos and my pike. Surprisingly he didn't even flinch when the nigrofascistus went in. A couple days before I tried to introduce a belly crawler pike and he was determined to hunt it down and eat it. I had to remove the belly crawler. :(

Beautiful super red! Wow!
