Hey everyone,

I'm new here so I just like to see hello to all. Now, I have a few questions that I need to have answered. Okay, as the title says, I am getting a 210 gallon tank for my fish. Currently the fish I have that will go in that tank are:

1 tiger oscar
1 albino tiger oscar
1 gold tiger datnoid
3 bala sharks

Now for the questions. Firstly, am I able to put a Pleco in there possibly? If I can't I don't mind. Secondly, any kind of cleaner fish that I could have that won't get eaten? Thirdly, how should the tank be setup for these guys. Don't worry about filtration because it will too the max. Substrate, decor, plants?

Thanks, Paul

Subestrate yes. Plants only if you can anchor them down with rocks etc as when I had my oscars I had major issues within them tearing them about. Plecs should be fine. Ad a knife fish. Either black ghos or clown would look cool. I was always fond of my combination like that. Just make sure there's a cave for the knife that the oscars can't get in. Best of luck. Enjoy it!

FYI, plecos make more of a mess than they clean up, just in case that is the reason you want one. If you are looking for an awesome cleaning fish check out a Fei Feng (flagtail), they will eat all the algae and clean sand if you choose sand for a substrate, and they look good. As for setup, that is personal preference really, you can do natural, or you can be creative.

Thanks for the replies, I ordered a Fei Feng or a Flagtail Prochilodus from my LFS. Thanks BushFishRox. Also, I don't want to overstock or anything but am I able to add a type of knife fish? If I can't I can understand but my current cleaning schedule is 50% water change every weekend with gravel cleaning. The filters are a wet/dry filter that is 700 g/p hour and an eHeim rated for 90 gallons.

You could do a ghost knife; I think a clown knife would get too big for that tank, they get to 3' consistently and are normally kept with Silver Arowana because of their similar size.

Okay, but I've never seen Ghost Knives being kept with larger fish? Will it still be fine? Can it compete for the food?

I got the same size tank as you.
I have pair of 10" breeding Oscars, one gorgeous albino red 10" Oscar, 14"+ Silver Arowana, two Rose Queens 7-8", two chocolate cichlids 5-7", Clown Knife 18" and a 13"+ RTC and 12"+ Spotted Gar. Everyone's getting along fine.
Filtration:
Two Fluval FX5, Hydor Coralia Evolution 1500gph, Marineland Maxijet 1200gph, Aquaclear 50 Powerhead with filter for mechanical filtration, 13W UV sterilizer, Tetra air pump and two led bubblers, 300w Eheim Jäger heater.
Water changes are once a week up to 50%.

Wow! Quite a lot of fish in there? Plan on getting a bigger tank soon? ;)Here in Hawaii, some of those fish aren't imported like the gars and rtc. But, would you say that a clown knife would be okay, black ghost knife, or something else?

Thanks, Paul

Try no substrate...This way The debris is easily found a nd siphoned evry water change.......Plus less food and poop will be caught in the nooks and crannies of the whatever substrate you were thinking..........Less spoiling food/poop means less ammonia build up.............
