so im thinking of getting a bigger tank. since i can only have one that means i have to get rid of the 100 to go bigger. so i plan on getting a 210, how long will my silver be able to live in there? currently he is around 12". thanks. dimensions will probably be 84x25x24 tall (inches). thanks.

Until he gets around 18"-22" then it'll be cramped IMO (as he can't turn around easily.....)

Have you ever seen a silver aro turn around? They turn in a diameter about one third there length.

You do need to have room for them to swim though and they are less skittish in tanks that are wider. Your aro would be fine in that tank up to 26-27" or so. This could take two or three years to happen.

Eventually the silver should be housed in a tank with at least a 96" x 30" footprint.
