I just purchased a 210g that is 72"x24"x29". It will be a freshwater tank with no live plants.

Any recommendations for lighting that will shoot down 29" yet only cost a max of around $200?

So far I have considered the following lights as options:
1. Current USA Nova extreme T5HO x2 freshwater
2. Marineland Double Brite LED
3. Cheap 2-tube Fluorescent strip lights

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i also have that same tank and i'm currently looking for lighting as well, so needless to say i'm very interested in what people have to say. i would just try and use 4 foot shop lights but i'm sure someone would chime in and tell me that's stupid....right?

Just a follow up on what I went with.

I found Bigals had some Coralife 36" freshwater Aqualight T5 for $51.99 with free shipping on two; it was $103.98 total. I thought this was pretty reasonable for lighting cost for the tank.

I am still setting up at this point. Reinforcing the stand, going under the house and beefing up the floor, etc. so I have not been able to see what the lighting really looks like, or if is even enough for a 24" wide/29" deep tank. But the cost was pretty good.

not bad. I like to beg to differ about a 4ft light on a 6 ft tank. depends on the look your going for. I have it right now it a dual t5ho and it lights up the tank. And i add that it only has one working light on it right now. DMD we want picks of it all not just finished.

If you are going to use a canopy these guys have excellent kits:

They are an excellent company to deal with, I have used them in the past with no complaints.

I have a 210 and use (2) 2 x 96W kits. Works great for a deep tank. I really only use one 2x96 mostly and turn on the second strip in the evening when viewing the DT.
