22" Indian Mottled Eel : Overflow Edition!

Here's a look at one of my big boys, Anguilla bengalensis. He likes using the two corner overflows as caves. It used to be pretty irritating not having him in the main tank, but it seems content in the overflow so I'm not really bothered by it anymore. If anyone wants to stick there hand in there to get him out, be my guest. Otherwise he only comes out to swim across the tank into the other overflow.

Eh, I've gotten so used to him being in there that I'm too lazy to do anything elaborate. The plumbing makes it hard to really get at him. Plus, who knows what the gars would do if he were in the tank 100% of the time. He'd be under the driftwood so often that it wouldn't be any different.

Oh, and I am certain he would escape the tank looking for somewhere to go if I blocked the overflows and end up dead on the floor.

He is pretty cool. I guess if thats where he wants to be you may as well let him be. No point in having him pissed off all the time

Thanks Buster, and agreed. He might outgrow the overflow eventually anyways.
