1. Have several fish tanks, ranging in size from 3 to 90 gallons. Use the same Python unit for them all. Use same nets for them all.

2. Decide to take a pair of killifish and try a new temperature to induce spawning. Lose female.

3. Take stressed killifish male and put him in 20 gallon fry tank, right after you rearrange tanks: remove L204 from fry tank, put in L204 tank. Put clown plecos in the 90. Remove tatia catfish from 20 and put in 90 as well. Split up 10 gallon fry tank and move most bristlenose babies to 20. Male killifish looking nice.

4. Notice that your tatia cats are hiding. Par for course. Time passes.

5. Fail to notice bristlenose fry disappearing. Red cherry shrimp population explodes with protein.

6. Find $1 rubbernose plecos at petsmart. Toss several in your 10 gallon QT tank. Put another half dozen in 90 because you need more of them and you are out of QT tanks.

7. Find 1 dead L204. Odd. Was doing fine. Now covered in tiny yellow spots.

8. Fail to notice male killifish in fry tank gone. Most fry gone. All fry in 10 gallon tank gone.

9. Notice that clown plecos are covered in yellow spots. Catch and put into another QT tank. All rubbernose plecos covered. All rubbernose die within a few days. Start medicating for velvet.

10. Notice tatias are breathing hard and again, yellow spots. Take 2 days to fully catch them all into QT. Medication time, Malachite Green!

11. Lose clown pleco.

12. Lose a few tatia cats.

13. Realize all left bristlenose fry have yellow slightly fuzzy spots. Add medication.

14. Local pet store runs out of medication. Curse the day you bought those killifish.

15. Buy bleach at Costco to use on Python. Buy all new nets, one per tank.

16. Realize that an Aquabid auction you bid on a week ago has closed and you are the winner. Proud owner of 6 new L052s with no room.

17. Contemplate suicide by way of drinking Malachite Green.

18. Deal with mother asking constantly why you are bleaching Python. Deal with mother asking repeatedly why you are so ticked at yourself and aquariums. Cue "responsibility" speech from lady whose failure to QT snakes cost her over a grand of them.

19. Order more medication.

20. Marvel at the few fish you have left, the hoplos, the kuhlis loaches, the hillstream loaches. Pray you get this all under control by the end of tax season so your money can go to new fish.

21. Realize you are not cut out to own zebra plecos.

22. Take another shot of Malachite Green.

i gotta thank you for the painful #17 then followed by the last malachite green comments

I have bruised ribs, and those comments made me bust out uncontrollably laughing. Still not sure wether the tears are from the obsurd pain or laughter

I feel ya. I will never ever buy fish from PETSTUPID again. Almost all 15 otos are gone as are most of the 5 rubberlips. Caused deaths to 2 Microctenopoma fascialatum and expect I'll lose the other 3 before it's over with. Cories look like crap as well. Think I contaminated tank with festivum, banded leporinus, brasiliensis, and flagtail prochilodus and every other tank in the garage by using same bucket. Two leporinus have a white 1/8" x 3/4" hash mark on one side. $20 worth of cheap fish have cost me at least that and more. Never again!

quarinting isint just for us cool guys.. everyone should do it..

Yeah, buying fish from a boxmart and then using the same python for the quarantine tank an other tanks is a mistake that I luckily realized just before I almost did the same thing.

Ouch!!! That really sucks!! Refuse to buy anything live form the box stores.

Good luck!
