Hey guys, ok, I think I found the setup I will be buying tell me what you think...

220 gallon acrylic tank (drilled with 2 overflow boxes i think)
tops
stand
*I think lights*
NOTE: Tank has a 2in scratch on front, not deep, and on the outside so it can be buffed. The tank is 7 years old. Was used for saltwater.
I'm gonna clean it out and use it for freshwater...
All this for $400 what do you think...I think its not a bad deal at all...
What do you think?

Doesn't sound like too bad of a deal as long as everything is in good shape. I would find out about the lights and what type they are first. Does it come with any filters? Pics?

If the tank is in good condition, alone it is worth that. Especially if only the front needs lightly buffed with some novus polish (no nicks, dings, or chunks taken out of it and only LIGHT scratching).

I'd pick it up in a heartbeat.

If you aren't building your own stand for it and really want to use the stand that they are selling with it, make sure to REALLY inspect it. If it's 7 years old and was used for salt, it likely has salt creep and might be pretty rotted out if they didn't take REALLY good care of it.

haven't seen the tank yet, someone told me about it and I'm going this weekend to possibly to pick up...the guy I know that told me about it, said it was a 240 (at least thats what he thought and so did the owner) when i called the owner today asked all the questions I wanted and pretty much agreed to the $400 asking price...I then thought to ask for the dimensions he told me 6ftx2ftx30in...i was a little upset having my mind set on the 240 (8x2x2 footprint)
obviously if the stand isn't in good shape i will ask him to shave off some money, as I'm really just interested in getting a good tank ya know...
no pics, and no filters as far as I know...

If you want an 8X2X2, hold out for one. You won't be dissapointed. That's my favorite tank size. Not too big, and not too small. I'm done with 6' tanks. They pop up all the time since it's a standard size, and you can get them for the price range you are in.

that's what i was thinking, but i might give in just cause I've been looking for over a month now I would say and i really need one asap lol...i think i may just ask the guy to drop the price 50 bucks and then take it...we'll see, if I get him down a little then maybe its worth it, ya know...
i can get him for false advertising lol:ROFL:

Id wait for an 8x2x2. I got offers for a bunch of 6 ft tanks and almost bought a 180 bc my bichirs needed a new tank. But I waited and found a pretty good deal for a 8x2x2 turnkey setup that was just what I was looking for. The problem with 6 ft tanks is they look small compared to a 240 and if you got enough space and you're a fish addict like many of us, a 6ft tank won't seem big enough 6 months from now when you want to add those huge pbass or aros.

It took me about a month and a half to find the footprint I wanted, but I'm really glad I waited because the 8x2 I got looks a lot more impressive than the other tanks I saw.

Its a great deal but there are better deals to be had though,

$200 got me a 225 gallon 5x2x3 wide with steel stand, powerful filter, glass lid. that was just right place right time though, if you can't see any better deals out there (if you haven't looked, take a look online) then I would say its a good enough deal :)

Seems like a great deal since it comes with a stand
As long as the stand and tank look nice it's worth it.

P.s is it a curved edgeless tank.
