The Real Norcal
I have a 220 coming real soon now, next weekend or the weekend after.

Right now my mini monsters are still in the 75 with an emp 400 and an ac 70 (the combo I put on all my tanks 55-75 gallons)

what I'm planning to do is just move the inhabitants straight over from the 75 to the 220 and just move the two HOB's with it hopefuly in addition to a FX5.

from there I will decide if I want to have the fx5 and a sump, the fx5 and an eheim,or just leave it the fx5,the emp 400,and the ac 70 if the combo does fine and theres no reason to shell out more cash to upgrade.

what do you guys think?

Inhabitants are going to be:

already have:

1 BGK 10"
1 TT eel 13"
1 oscar 4"
2 JD 3.5" , 2.25"
1 GT 2.5"
1 Jag 2"
1 FH 3"
1 eye biter 4"
1 silver aro 7"
1 TSN 2.75"

hopefully arriving within days of getting the tank:
1 Lei aro 6"
1 black aro 10"
4 P.bass 3" (2 tem 2 mon)
1 delhizi 4"
1 senegal 4"

some fish may not be staying very long such as the eye biter maybe going back into a malawi setup, the FH perhaps one day deciding she doesnt want any tankmates, some potential trouble with the TSN,the BGK could get beat up but usualy those dont get bothered, same goes for the TT, and I might also keep just the best tem and the best mono P.bass, bringing it down to just 2 of those.

Anyway in the end I know I'm still gonna need to upgrade again someday but this should be okay for at least a year and a half im thinking.....better than that,I can feel it in my heart ;)

alright but I mean if I transfer both HOB's over with the current stocklist then there should be little or no cycle right?(aside from the slight difference in bioload from the other fish I'm going to add, which I just might counter with additional biomedia from another tank.)

oh also I'm gonna keep the better of the 2 dempsys

i would also start out with some water from your old tank. filtration wise you could always just use what you have along with the fx5 and upgrade as the tank fish grow and the water need it.

senor, where in the bay did you buy your new tank? im looking to upgrade? find any good deals?

I'm thinkin miscommunication in a former conversation?were talkin farther north than that LOL I live like 4 hours north of you in Redding CA.

But I dont think I did find a good deal on it because I dont have the patience to wait for one to pop up on craigslist.the tank was $650 and I had him add an fx5 and hopefully a glass lid or something for the top brining it up to like $800.

Didnt realize you were that far up North. Tank deal seems like an good deal to me. Does that include the stand also? Congratz on the pick up!

sweet then thats what I will do just move everything over and upgrade filtration as needed.:D

no theres no stand I will need to have one made.I'm not even 100% sure if he said he would throw the top in with it or not but i think so,i hope so because otherwise I've no idea what I would do for a lid (I've got jumpers)

Random Q but what do you guys figure I'm looking at for a final tank size on these guys?
