220 stand 3ft H?

Only for midgets.

If the tank is a 'long' then you will definitely want the taller stand to bring it up to eye level. My 250's stand is 32 inches tall and I'd certainly like it better if it had more height. I have to duck my head down to see the underside of the surface. I tend to do it too often at feeding time.

I think 3' or a little more would be great. I personally do not like low stands. I have a rack of 20's that are 50'' of the ground. They are breeder set-ups and it really got on my nerves to have to squat down and try to find fry.------------The only problem with going high on the stand height is maintenance, being able to reach the bottom with the vac and for scaping rocks and stuff.

I made my 240gal stand 42'' high and its perfect level, although it was kinda hard to lift the tank that high. As far as maintenance goes, you are looking at the tank much more times than cleaning it.

taller is better and 3ft stand will be perfect, if ur tank is 2 feet tall. any taller u can reduce the height of the stand. in my view the top of the tank should come around 5 feet for best viewing and photographing purposes.

i guess im a midget ....my 210gallon the stand is only 26" heigh ...cant do any taller than that on the stand cause its on the basement + the canopy

Yeah didnt think it mattered as long as it can support the weight right. I'll probably post another diy stand in a couple days depending on how the staining goes.......

id say it depends on its placement. if the tank is in your living room, close to your couches, then a 3ft stand may seem too tall from the position youll be viewing it most of the time; sitting down.

if the tank is in its own area where the only time people will see it is if they are standing next to it, then yes, a taller stand will be better.

but its all personal preference
