Sold the fish a lot faster than I expected, so this stuff is for sale now. For real this time.
220 Gallon Acrylic Tank - $750
86.5x24x24
Dimensions: 86.5x24x24
Stand: Yes, 2x4 frame and all necessary screws and bolts. I reinforced the stand because it wasn't as strong as I wanted, and it has been standing ever since with no wobble at all. I have more 2x4 if you want to work on the other end, as well as the plywood ledge and pink foam in the garage. (I actually forgot to put the foam under it when I set it up)
Canopy: No
Drilled: Yes, two holes in the bottom for a closed loop system. Bulkheads included.
Filter: Yes, Eheim 2250 - which has a new gasket
Sump: Also Yes. Your choice of either of the two I've got sitting around
Lights: Your choice from a few 48" T5 or CF fixtures I have
Background/sides/bottom: Clear
Top: Unusually large/wide openings for a tank this size. No lids, though.
Condition: Good
Included: 6 or 10 inch orbital buffer (if wanted - they're kind of useless, too high an RPM and not variable), 3M rubbing compound, PlastX finishing compound
Original ad from when I bought it: here. Note that there are no lids (weren't when I bought it either) but there is the sump and Eheim.
Details: It has the kind of scratching typical of acrylic where it's not noticeable when there is water in it, but it is when there's not. I was buffing it to make it a show tank, but I didn't get very far. I got the first pane sanded out but not buffed to a shine. Here's a before and after when I did that last year:
after:
It's not by any means perfect but the front pane looks nice when there's water inside.
125 gallon - $200
Brand: All-Glass, purchased new 5/2008
Dimensions: Standard 125: 72x18x25, which really holds more than 125 gallons.
Stand: Sort of. You can have the solid oak dresser it sits on. It has seen better days, and unless you hack up the drawers, the filters won't sit below it. They sit behind it for me. (UPDATE: I took this outside the other day and it got rained on. You probably are going to want a stand. I can help you make one out of the 2x4 I have in my garage if you want. The wood is free, the labor won't be.)
Trim: Black
Canopy: No
Drilled: No
Filter: No, unless you make an offer on the other ones below
Sump: No
Lids: glass, excellent shape
Lights: Your choice from a few 48" T5 or CF fixtures I have
Background/sides/bottom: Clear
Condition: Perfect except for one recent mark, described below
Included: Nothing special, just the light. You can have some pool filter sand and a few fake plants if you want.
Scratch: OK, this tank was 100% mint condition until about 2 months ago, when something - I have no idea what - put a scrape in the absolute dead center of the front pane. It looks like it happened with sandpaper, so I don't know how a fish could've done it. It's a mystery. It's about an inch by an inch and when the light is in front (as it always is for me) you can see it. It drives me crazy.
That said, the rear pane is unmarked. So you can just flip it around. I'm not joking, it is the only imperfection in the glass at all. And if you center your light over the tank instead of having it in the front (I used it as the weight to keep the lids from being opened by a fish, so the light was in the front third), you can't see it at all. Here are some photos that prove that.
Filters:
FX5 - with media (scrubbies and some ceramic) - $175
Eheim 2028 - best offer. I may keep this for a different tank. This one has new O rings but the gasket still leaks if you don't have it on level ground and press down on it. Usually what happens is that I set it inside a 10g, it leaks slowly for like an hour, and then I press down on the top hard enough to create a seal and I don't have to worry about it til the next time I clean it out.
Eheim 2250 - only if not desired with the 220 tank
I also have a 20g CO2 tank and SUMO regulator (heavy duty) that I'll sell together for $180 if anyone wants that.
NO SHIPPING. Even on the filters. I'm lazy and I don't have any packaging. NO DELIVERY. I have a 2 door car, so that just plain can't work. I am strong though, so loading will be easy. (Actually, the 220 is super light. I moved it myself. The 125 weighs twice as much.)
