225 gallon

Just bought I 225 gallon acrylic aquarium, how should I stock it? New to african cichlids but really like yellow labs for some reason. Ideas?

all male haps gets my vote, and a few peacocks also.

research the different types, if you want labs then go all mbuna.

You can mix yellows labs with almost any fish from lake malawi. You can also mix mbuna, haps peacocks and victorians. Look through some pictures and see what you like. Once you get a idea of what you like. Don't forget to do some research.

If you like yellow labs I would go with a mixed Mbuna tank

Peacocks, one cool fish is malawi eye biters not shure of scientific name but weird/cool fish

if you like yellow labs, research lake malawi. they have some more yellow colored varieties of mbuna that you may like. just do your research before you start to stock. it will save lots of trouble

225 sounds great for haps and peacocks but you can definitely throw some yellow labs in the mix they do add good color!! I have some in 4 different tanks and they have great personalities and are fun to watch! mine like to hide out in the decorations it's so funny especially the one that goes into the shell and hangs out upside down I gotta post a pic of this one I will do so in the media lounge...

Do not mix MBUNAS with HAPS and AULONOCARA. Reason being, most haps/peacocks will have the tendency of developing long extensions to their fins (anal. ventral) and the MBUNAS love to munch on those.

If you're not interested in breeding them, I'd go for a collection of large male haps, for an all male tank.
