Howdy,

I read in this forum that the filter turns silent if you install a gel pad under your 1262 pump.

I did it. It's totally amazing.

I thought I'd share for those of you who're interested.

The gel pads were from Amazon

I cleaned my filter and took the pump off and apart. I don't generally do that, but this hack is absolutely worth the effort.

Simply lay down one of the pads. One is enough. No need to cut to size. It works perfectly.

Set the pump on top, it slides nicely into its notches

Screw it on tight, and then loosen each screw by about a quarter turn of the screwdriver. The pump sits on the pad now.

That's all the Magic. I now have one silent, totally silent Eheim.

Great Ideal thanks for sharing. Never heard of that one.

Thank You Sir! I will be doing this on my 2 2262's this weekend!.

Another thing I did was use a 3" piece of pure silicon hose from the pump output to the double tap connector - I found that drastically reduced noise\vibration a lot, so with this hack it will make it 99% silent. I will report back my finds.....Thanks again...

Credit where credits due bro! ;)
Sorry, I never claimed to be the inventor. I even mentioned that I read it here in this forum. I'm just the guy who helps others replicate it.

I tagged raubiy raubiy who posted it, as well as you as first follower, asking you guys for help and guidance in the original thread.

Four weeks went by, and I got none.

This thread is not bragging that I came up with it. I just simply posted the step by step with pics for the MFK community, the way I had hoped to get help.

I'm not claiming any credit.

It was a joke mate, you have helped me out far to much to get pissy about a gel pad.

As a side note was thinking to get a Eheim Pro 4 600.... Have you looked at them much?

All good.
As for the pro 4, no haven't researched it much, sorry to say. I'm more into the classic line. They turned me off with my pro 3... Having said that, the pro 4 can only be better. It can't be worse.

I have 2 2262s that I don't find to be at all noisy. Is that something that comes with age and wear? Mine are only about 3 years old. The one in the living room only has a slight hum when I open the cabinet and I am sitting on the floor. The other is in fish room. It's so dang noisy in there that I would never notice.
