I just bought a used aquapod for 70$ and it's in good condition. Lights are power florescent lights about 24 watts each. Pump is a maxi-jet 1200. 2 led lights. This is my first cube it's pretty badass. What are some adjustments I can do for this? I may add a metal halide, and most def change the pump. What can I do with filtration if anyone is familiar with this? I will post pictures but I'm on my iPhone and will set up tonight. If anyone could recommend some stuff to maximize performance?

I have no experience with these pre-built nanos...MH might be nice, but be wary of overlighting...that is always a concern of mine in those small setups.

I would hit up in tank for filtration. The media racks are really nice.

As for upgrade on lighting avoid a MH as you will get some ridiculous evaporation and then you have to watch tank temps. I know from experience. Check out nanotuners.com for some lighting upgrades. If you have the money for the LED.

As for circulation pick up a Koralia Evo powerhead or if you want to spend the money go with a Ecotech Vortech MP10.

Add macro algae to the back. Im not familiar with the aquapod... But in the biocube 14 i recently set up i ditched all the bioballs in the back chamber and put cheato in place of them. The biocubes back wall is painted black, but it easily comes of with a razor and allows you to add a light source. I found a little florescent puck light at Lowes and the small ball of cheato i put in tripled in size in about 3-4 weeks. Taking out the bioballs allows you far more room to run media such as carbon or phosban. You could go the pre made media basket route... But you could save yourself some money and buy some plastic light screen from a hardware store and make your own.

As for lighting, MH will add more heat than you are prolly going to want to deal with. Check out Nano Tuners they've got kits made for every type of nano you can imagine, including the aqua pod.

i wont go with a halide cause u will have to do a top off more and i pretty sure u dont want to top it off more than supposed to

I'm not sure yet guys, nano tuners don't have much for me, I might tear down the filter compartment cause it's useless for me and like extra room cause I have bout 45 lbs or rock and 15 lbs of sand.

yah, I broke down my 75g because money is a problem right now and i need room. I already have a 120g, later i plan to go big when the time is right but for now i need to relax. If i go to the store im not leaving empty handed haha so i gotta stay away incase of any temptations.
