Ok S/he is growing and touches end to end when staring at me for food
she can turn and all, but kinda has to twist
It's looking to me like this is too small
I think the blues would be ok with it for a couple years since they're more slender
S/he has been upgraded to pet status equivalent to cat or dog
soo
I'm wanting an 8'x4'x2' tank but might have to go with indoor pond short term i guess
S/he's seems to be starting to be annoyed at the tight fit
comments, advice suggestions?

24"? Youre half way there!

I doubt it will reach 48". I got a silver @ 24" and I don't think it has grown an inch in the year I've had it. This is not due to poor conditions either. I've also notice that it almost NEVER uses the entire width of it's tank. I'm prepared to throw an indoor pond incase it starts growing faster though.

he only acts this way when he faces you direct for food. doubt he's annoyed. as rally said, it almsot never uses the entire width of the tank. it should be fine, of course bigger is better. temp pond could be a solution til u get a bigger tank up. but i think he should be okay.

Aros at that size grow from adding on bulk rather than in length. You may be looking at multiple 24 inchers but still look considerably different b/c of the differences in bulk.
