Here is my initial vision.

TANK:
240 gallon acrylic aquarium (8x2x2) with corner overflows.
Tank is predrilled for schedule 80 bulkheads.
Each corner overflow has a hole drilled for 1 inch PVC stand pipe.
Four 1 inch lines and one 1.5 inch line in back panel. Will use the 1 inch lines as returns, and install a ball valve onto the 1.5 inch line, in case I need to use it later.
The bottom panel has three 1 inch line drilled in it. I am thinking of plumbing this along the bottom, toward the back, then up the back to a TEE and back down to the sumps, to be used as backup overflow.

STAND:
Stand will be modified, using basic 2x4 stand design.
Back corners are notched to accommodate tank overflows.
Top frame of stand made of 2x6’s to reduce bowing.
There will be a cut to fit, 1 1/8 inch sub-floor between stand and tank.
I will not skin the stand, as I like the skeletal look.
Stand will be painted a shade of black or a dark gray.

FILTRATION:
Dual 40 gallon breeder tanks as sumps.
Media will be SEACHEM MATRIX and POND MATRIX, in a wet/dry setup, inside 5 gallon buckets.
Dual Fluidized bed filters made from 20 inch house water filter housings and Silica sand.
Mechanical filtration will be 200 or 400 micron EZ-Strainers from US Plastics.

PUMPS:
Quad TUNZE 1073.050 pumps, one on each return line. TUNZE Safety Connectors will be used, as I eventually want to automate my system.

HEATERS:
I am still up in the air on heaters.

AIR PUMPS:
Dual PennPlax Air-Pod Battery Back-Up Air Pumps, again… looking at automating system.
