Stand I made for my new tank I figured I would share. Always nice to save some money to build your own stands. Picking up tank later on today which is a 240 gallon (really like 234) with the dimensions of 72x30x25. That’s about the biggest tank that will reasonably fit in my room and into my room through the window haha. My 3 Retroculus Lapidifers and 3 Retroculus Xinguensis will eventually be going into this tank.

Used a total of 19 2x4s for the stand. Assuming a vertical 2x4 can support around 800 pounds I used 18 vertical 2x4s which would give me right around 12,000 pounds of support. The tank, water, sand, and decor will be a little under a total of 3,000 pounds.

Wrapped the whole stand in a nice maple plywood because I wanted to go with stain on this build rather than painting it black like I have done before

A coat of wood conditioner before I stained it.

First coat of stain.

Second coat of stain.

The 2 coats of polyurethane. Pictures don't really do the final product justice it looks a lot better in person. Overall for not being a carpenter I am happy the way it came out.
