I have a 240 with a black painted backround and was wondering what substrate I should use....I have used pool filter sand before but don't wanna go that route again...the only gravel I have local access too is Petco gravel....although I will travel for some nice gravel or some other substrate....anyone have any ideas.....was going to do tiles but they look akward in a glass tank as the silicone prevents the tiles from sitting seamless in the tank. I want gravel like shown in this tank
But have no clue where to find some of this color. If anyone has ideas or suggestions or ANYTHING let me know lol....

Go to a local quarry. They'll have pretty much everything.

Not always the case. There is a couple by me that sell by the pound and they're cheap. Easiest thing to do is call and ask.

Won't I have to buy by the ton in that case though? I cant do that as I have no access to a truck rn.
I don't have to for mine. They just make me pay the rate for the ton but I just get 100 pounds and pay next to nothing.

Landscape suppliers might also have what you want.

My local landscaping place sold me 3 5 gallon buckets full of pebbles that I used for a small walk way for $10.
