Just picked up a 240 gallon (8x2x2) acrylic tank. It is drilled on the bottom with 6 holes. 2 are for the returns and 4 are to suck the water out. Now all the holes are directly on the bottom and my question is what is the best way to cover the four so that my fish don't get sucked through or gravel doesn't get sucked in either. I'm thinking just laying some screen over top of it then lay the gravel on top. I'm thinking this will hinder the flow too much. Is there a better way to do this. I have never had a tank that was drilled on the bottom. Thanks.
