I was wondering what type of heating should i do for a larger tank such as 250? I was wondering how many watts do i need to efficiently heat the tank? I understand topfin is a terrible brand to buy for equipment. Any Suggestions?

Get 2 Jager 300 Watt heaters that way you will always have more than enough heating and in case one broke the other could probably hold on for you buying another. Dr Foster Smith right now 22.99. One might work depending on temp in house open tops or closed and such. But safe is always good.

I like using aqueon heaters. im thinking maybe 900watts.

900 Watts of cheap pos heaters. I can heat my 600 gallon tank with 900 Watts.

Aqueon's haven't let me down so far and they can take the abuse that our monsters sometimes dish out. I run Aqueon Pro's in all of my tanks.

That being said, 600w is most likely more than enough, regardless of what brand you use.
