Assume a 240 with 5 of the Fluval 304 (260 gph).

Is this possible or a wet/dry is a must?

:D

i agree with delgado wet dry is not a must but i would go with the wet dry if it was my tank

and if i was to go with canisters it would be an eheim professional with the built in heater

would the wet/dry and the eheim basically do the same amount of work and get you the same results?

Howdy,

I have a 220 gal with an Eheim Pro 3 . It's rated for 300 gal, so you should still be okay with your 240 gal as long as you don't overstock it. An Eheim this size does not come with a heater, but maybe they add that to the model line in a few years once the Pro 3 is established. Honestly, I wouldn't go with multiple baby filters, it's just more work when you want to clean them. Go big!

Go canister, go Eheim :grinyes:

its a must!!!

i had a couple canisters laying around so i plumped them all together
(eheim 2028, fluval 304 and jebo 805) works great on my 240

sure wet/dry is the way to go but if you got the canisters use them

I have 2 XP3's on my 250 and it is doing great. Easy to clean and no splashing or water dripping noise. But on the other hand, a friend of mine has a 300 gallon and he uses an eco system like I had on my salt tank. No more nitrates, I can tell you that. Grow the plants and you are nitrate free for the most part.
