:mr-t: depends on the size. I would put like 10 in there. You'll never know if you would be able to keep it alive for life anyway. I mean no one in here knows if their fish will last it's lifetime. So many variables to consider. If you get lucky to have all of them live, then sells some and keep the mated pairs. Very simple. So many think that long term will assure you that your fish will live for life. Question for all....what type of fish have you kept the longest? let's hear it. Mine was red bellies. I bought them at a dime size, and after two years, my daughter who was two at the time, pour the entire 8oz of food inside the tank. Noticed it two days later, and all of the fish were dead.:woot:
 
i have had my marble shovel nose cat for close to 7 years now. when i got him ,he was 3" ,
now he is about 24" and very tame will eat comets or whatever out of my hand. i also have a albino oscar 12" that is about 5 years old .
