Is $250 for a 240gal tank only a good price, its about 10 years old, glass, been sitting in his garage for about 5 years, says it doesn’t leak. Don’t believe it is drilled, which in the area I am putting it I don’t have the room behind the tank for bulkheads. I’m gonna have him fill it before I buy it. How thick should the glass be? Any thoughts????

I would give him 250 for it, after he filled it up and no leaks. But you can try to talk him down. Its worth a shot!;)

Thanks guys. I will try to get him to go lower, especially if it does not have a glass top. I got a glass top for my 180 at a glass shop and it it cost me just under $100 bucks.

How much you guys think a glass top cost for a 240gal?

Also any ideas how think the glass should be for the Aquarium it self?

the least is atleast $1/gallon just my 2 cent....but Id try to get it cheaper than $250.

its already a great deal really.

i wuold say about 3/4 inch and no thinner then 5/8". ive seen the difference based on being tempered or not, but when you get to that many gallons they almost never use tempered except on the bottom. IMO

Thanks sweeTang21, 3/4 (min 5/8) even for a 10 year old tank?
