24Hrs, Two murders.

Yesterday everyone was accounted for and healthy.

Today two of my pictus catfish are dead and everyone else is injured except one...

1 Severum
1 Pictus
4 Surinam
1 Heckli
1 Jurupari
1 Chocolate

Should I put the chocolate in time out and rearrange the tank? Or is it time to move the chocolate out.

Chocolate is biggest at 6 inches.

I've never known chocolates to be particularly aggressive. How big are the pictus?

I know that chocolates are typically laid back but a friend of mine had one that killed two Oscars. They were about the same size as yours. I'd take him out before I stresses the rest of your fish sick.

It could possibly be the thread fin.

that was my primary suspect but all the Uaru have the same damage on the tops of their head and I thought that was predatory. They are bigger than the threadfin

I would say he has to go.. I doubt a rearrange and timeout will work since he is picking on all of them and just not 1 or 2.. that's just my thoughts

Beautiful fish - I'd try timeout, but when they are going after pictus in a 125, that tells me this is a rogue fish for sure, and not likely to work out long term
