greetings all, my 250g has been going pretty well but i still see that most of my fish with the exception of my bichir are not too fond of me or any human, they’ve all been added for 3-4 months already and they still seem scared. my flagtail darts all whole lot when startled and he’s startled easily, my NTT dat sometimes comes out to just look at me in the corner but mostly spends his days laying in a corner under the driftwood and my arowana is running whenever i come close. they all seem a bit better if i sit down with them for around an hour though. most of them are also eating fine with the exception of the NTT. any help or insights are appreciated!

Some fish species just aren't going to greet you even when you feed them. I did once had a silver arowana that would see my shadow and wait for me to come feed it 😆 Is the aquarium in a high traffic area?

it is in a high traffic area but a couple are overly jumpy, but i feel they shouldve grown accustomed by now, its been a couple months. it seems alot better at night though, everyone comes out including my eel

the tank runs on a day night cycle so it progressively gets brighter and darker so im confused on why they are still so scared.

That's probably the issue also some fish are skittish in nature like silver dollars for example from my experience. I would do what you do just sit for awhile and observe. I suggest letting everyone know to walk by the aquarium slowly and hopefully calm the flagtail and arowana down.
I've also noticed over the years that as some young nervous fish mature they become less afraid of you.

I guess i could wait it out and see, we've been trying to walk quieter for months now, they are still relatively the same.

It's not you but others who walk by the aquarium. I don't know if you have children in the home. My children had to be told not to tap on my aquarium.

Honestly, I would just wait it out. Spend a lot of time near the tank so that they can grow accustomed to your presence. I promise (unless there is something terribly wrong) that they will warm up to you eventually. I thought for a while that my discus pair would never warm up to me, and now they come up to me; heck, they've even fed from my hand. Just be patient, and they will come around.

Don't let anything especially loud near the tank, like dogs, cats, etc. Children, loud cousins, etc. The cats riding on the Roomba, lawnmowers, excessive cooking noises like angry wives beating on pans and smacking pancakes against the wall...I think you get my point lol.
