my friend just bought one and wants to put angel fish in it, how many would be good, what types and what other fish can she have with them? :headbang2

just thought of can u mix angels and do they need caves or hiding spaces and what about plants should she go live or fake? talk to me people.

in a 25 not many, as juvies maybe 5 or 6 but they grow fast if fed well then youd be looking at 2. 3 at the absolute most

you might be able to get away with a mated pair of angles in that tank, problem is it is to narrow for adults. She could go with 6 juvinilles let 2 pair up and get rid of the rest.

As for live plants the lighting that comes on those small hex tanks is not enough for plants, so she would have to upgrade.

I wouldn't put more then two in there and I agree w/pps a mated pair. Why get 5-6 juvies if you are going to get rid of them? Unless of course you want to have them pair up. Maybe just one and some other smaller fish? I've had corys and SAEs with angels and perhaps some larger tetras, maybe congos? Just be aware that spawning angels become VERY aggressive and will chase everybody around with a vengence, which can be stressful to other species. If your friend wants a community tank, I'd probably just invest in a really extravagent breed of angel so you won't have to deal with aggression issues.... check out angelsplus.com for some real beauts or even just this thread for some member photos...
Fake plants will be more suitable with that lighting IME

A tank with that area for swimming space would be bad for even 1 mated pair. I wouldn't do more than one scalare. At juvy sizes only 2 at max.
