Ok so here is my 25g planted project=]
Stock:Goldfish

Plants: Java fernx8
Moss ball
Amazon sword
and then 3 other plants i need I.Ds on please(left and right corners of tanks

My goldfish love to destroy plants. I dunno about amazon sword's taste but apparently java fern isn't so bad. Mine didn't eat it but they loved biting at the roots until the fern got loose. They broke one of the leaves and destroyed a 'sapling.' I think hornwort would be one of the best plants to go in eventually. It is hardy and very fast grower. (apparently) since it grows around here I am going to pick up some from the pond this spring. We'll see how it goes. Keep hornwort trimmed because it gets tall. You will probably get a couple more plants every month if you keep them from touching the surface? (Hope that made sense)

You didn't say the number of goldfish but you shouldn't go over 2 goldfish. 2 would fit nicely. I can't see the pics but 2 is the number to go for. If they get too big you can always upgrade. Mine are fancy and just under 5 inches (in 29 gallon) In 2 years. Soo expect 6 inches by the time it is all done.

Moss balls are a kind of algae so they might be tantalizing to their taste buds. Watch OUT!

Good luck to you. I suggest feeding extra peas and algae wafers so they have plenty of vegetables. Hopefully they will stop chowing down then. ...If they do at all.

theres one goldfish and my girlfriend *** if to me so hes in there till he dies...It will be stocked with an african butterflyfish a group of 12 neons, im going to start with about 20 cherry shrimp and a pair of rams.

You're stocking the fish the wrong way. African butterfly fish will eat the neons, no doubt about it. Cherry shrimps will not last with rams either. Why not just sell or give away the goldfish instead of leaving it to die?

Which one exactly are you going to get? Do you want shrimps? You need to carefully select the fish as most fish will never work with the shrimps.

I suggest the "poor man's neon tetra" as tankmates. If your girlfriend likes it it should probably stay. Goldfish are pretty good fish, but they can be real trouble sometimes. THey are probably one of the worst fish for beginners. They eat plants, they grow large, they like cold water, their fins are tempting for nippers... At least they have a cute face, and they pay attention to you when you enter the room by biting the glass and cruising around the front in circles...

"poor man's neon tetra" is of course the white cloud mountain minnow. They are small, active, twitchy and often display to one another. (which mind you, is interesting to watch)They actually do look like neon tetras from a short distance, the young have dark body with red fins and the stripe is very blue. The eyes are blue and the dorsal fin and anal fin are much larger than they look, plus they have yellow rims.

The WCMM rules! You could fit about 10-15 in that 20 gallon tank with the goldfish. They stay small so they would have enough room to make a good school. I have not observed a good school though. I had too few in too large a space and they just spread out and cruised around in trios or pairs. The goldfish should get large enough to intimidate them into better schooling.

GOOD LUCK with your TANK. I suggest uploading your photos to photobucket and posting links. They will work almost no matter what that way.

ok so idk what i was thinking lol...im a pretty experienced fishkeeper. and this is my second planted tank.
Ok so about stocking it. I deffinetly want some cherry shrimp. they are my favorite but i also want some kind of schooling tetra in with them. The goldfish is gonna stay for now. So im thinking i start with around 15 cherry shrimp. Then as for fish. Can you give me a few suggestions on what will fit my tank? 25g with a goldfish and 15shrimp. i like the look of neons and cardnal tetras. O and i forgot to mention thereis already 5ottos in the tank...

theres also Co2 running on the tank. Plant substrate i forget the exact brand. theres some t5 light running about 58watts
