Some 2600 fish of 56 different species of underwater dwellers live inside this huge cylindrical tank called AquaDom. Along with a vast amount of sandblasted glass, the AquaDom enriches the lobby guests and visitors with a transparent-like feeling and moreover, they are able to travel through the aquarium in a glass-enclosed elevator without getting wet. Two full-time divers look after feeding of the fish and maintenance of the aquarium. The AquaDom was opened in December 2003 and it cost about 12.8 million Euros. I don't know about that. In the bottom picture I see the elusive "man" fish. I hear their average length is almost six feet!
I saw this tank in person a few years ago. It is massive, but most of the fish are under 24". I beleive there were a few larger groupers (maybe 3ft?), but not 100% sure. Anyways, it is a really cool tank. The elevator is 2 story as well, kinda cool.
