Ok, so this goes in the general section because I don't know what is going to go in it just yet. As in the description it is 7ft long and 30 inches wide. I am considering 2 ideas. First, the bottom of the tank is drilled down the center line. I am considering gluing some scrap acrylic over these holes and then drill the ends for drains and returns. I have weld-on 16 for the acrylic that would work for the initial cap install. I would need to purchase weld-on 40 for hole fill. or I can install bulkheads and cap the pvc underneath. There are 4x 1.5in, 2x 1in, and 1x 2in.
The second idea is to purchase a pallet of slate to build a 3D type background.

I'd cap the bulkhead and call it a day. Besides, you never know when you might need the holes for a closed circulation loop (just a guess what the holes were used for on my part).

There was a central overflow box at one time. The outline is still visible. I don't know if the original owner removed it on purpose of not.

Simply plugging the bulkheads should work fine imo. And if you wanted to get creative with the scaping you could cut lengths of pvc to mount wood or rocks to and use the bulkheads to keep them secure. You could probably create some interesting tunnel or bridge type structures.

I have capped the holes in the bottom with acrylic. The center 5 holes were covered with a single sheet of 3/8 ish and each of the other holes with 7in diameter plates of 3/8. I had enough Weldon 16 to do the large piece. I found some Weldon 40 locally and used that on the plates. I will flip the tank over and pour 40 into the cutouts.
I forget whose thread I saw just this week where he cut weir teeth into the end glass on his reef tank but it got me thinking about doing the same on my tank. I have a Rotozip and a router. I can build a jig so that the teeth are straight and evenly spaced. I have scrap acrylic that I can build the external overflow with. How do I attach to a vertical surface? Should a fast set water viscosity glue be used?

What do you guys that work with acrylic think? Will this hold? Weldon 16 applied a month ago

I'm kind of confused I guess. Is this tank acrylic or glass?
3/8in Acrylic. I used same thickness material to cover the holes. I used black so that I could make kids out of the clear material I have scrounged.

I'm not making kids out of clear acrylic just lids
