HI I have other posts on me buying a used 265 gallon tank with equipment and the equipment is good except for the lights but it is all underrated.

SO I want to buy all new equipment on a tight patient budget.

Tell me what you think:

Overflows: 1 1200 gph Lifereef and 1 600 gph lifereef, very pricey overflows $300. I've heard these are the best in terms of safeness etc. Is this true? Any other very safe overflows?

Sump: thinking about making one aout of a 75 gallon tank, or buying one iif the price is decent? Any plans on making one or any websites that have good sumps rated foe my size tank?

Return Pumps-Mag Drive 18 and Mag drive 5(any problem?)

Protein Skimmer: MSX 300 and a 20" Euroreef Skimmer with a sendra 3500 pump(have)

Lighting- Some kind of HO lighting? Any suggestions, there will be no coral.

Buying rock from marco rocks and topping it off.

Thanks

lighting is High output what T-5's or PC?

skimmer is a great choice

return pump may be too much for your overflow's your gonna use i would check the manufacture's max flow on them first.

Also what kinda setup you going for a FOWLR?

if your doing a fish only just buy a 75 gallon and modifiy it yourself cheaper that way search internet for sump idea's i would do one section for your flow coming down to go to a section with the protein skimmer, second section maybe some live rock with a light over top and reverse lighting from main display, last section return pump.

If you get some things secondhand on Craigslist, you can definitely rock it with some high end stuff as well. There's no reason to buy everything new if you're trying to get set up in less than 6 months.

before you buy from craigslist or ebay read my blog about buying used equipment so you don't learn a hard lesson like some have.
