Hey guys my local fish store is giving me a great deal on a 265 g aquarium but there are holes in bottom for filtration I have never used this any suggestions who knows how this works

It’s for a sump. You can either search on here or google about how to set up that style filter, or plug the holes (which there are also threads about).

From your post i'm guessing that you don't know the first thing about sumps. DO NOT let your lack of knowledge of sumps swing you into simply blocking up the holes and opt for the "easier" cannister route. People on here simply swear by sumps, myself included. It was only a few years ago i was in your situation, not knowing the first thing about sumps yet still going to the store and buying a sump set up. They are simply brilliant. Read up on them, there's masses of info on line and of course you'll also get great advice on here.
