So I moved the festae pair and fry out of my 265 and decided to grow out all my favorite fish to see what kind of community I can eventually end up with.

I removed all the live plants I had with the festae and have gone down to just wood, rocks & sand.

Ive been adding to the tank over the past 2-3 months and everything is uneventful and balanced, as of now. I will add the istlanum tomorrow.

A pair of Hondurans just laid eggs yesterday and are currently guarding it.

The Argentea is Supreme Ruler of the tank, yet one neet in particular feels the need to constantly challenge him.

One of the Trimacs is the one with a genetic mutation in his back half..hes 1/2 purple.

All stock is from Rapps, Ira & Conkel.

Current Stocklist, all under 4 inches (all sizes approximate):

6x Honduran Red Points (1M & 5F) ~ 4 inches
4x 'Red' Istlanum ~ 2.5 inches
4x Piebald Midas ~ 1.5 inches
3x Cyannoguttatus ~3.5 inches
2x Grammodes (pair) ~ 4 inches
2x Convicts (pair) ~ 3 inches
2x Neets ~ 1.5 inches
2x Carpintis 'Vontehillo' ~ 1.5 inches
2x trimaculatus ~ 2.5 inches
1x Salvini ~ 3 inches
1x JD ~ 3.5 inches
1x Argentea ~ 4 inches

looks good so far

Yep, so far. Should be for quite a while, if my past experiences being successful doing this are any measure.

Ive done it prior with a spawning dovii pair (6 & 5 inches), spawning RTM pair(6 & 5 inches) with both pairs spawning at the same time, a 9 inch trimac, 7 inch male festae, an 8 inch carpintis and a 6 inch freddi...all in the same tank the whole time without any real aggression and cant even recall any chasing or fighting at all.

I think that growing them up together from very small sizes makes them a lot more tolerant and respectful of each other, and they learn their places in the hierarchy...and I dont anticipate this group being worse than an a majority parachromis tank. Guess Ill find out.

The festae spawning was the worst experience Ive had, with them annihilating every tankmate in one night after I went to bed. They had never even shown any aggression towards other tankmates...:screwy:

Very nice stock list. Will be interesting to see how they do when larger.

Thanks! Yea, I agree. Hopefully Ill be able to get some size on everyone before too much drama ensues.

Very nice collection. Takes a lot of patience but it should work out for the better

What are you doing with the festae pair?:naughty:

Thanks Peter.

I have a lot of time to dedicate to it now which is why I did this. No longer playing in a band, a bachelor again:headbang2 and only work 3 miles from my house.

I have moved the festae pair to a friends LFS, but do not fret my friend, you are first on the list if I decide to part with them.:naughty:

Very nice! That Argentea is going to be a stunner, hope you hang on to it.

Thanks Adam. I plan on it. He quickly became one of my favorites in the tank with his tenacity. I tell you though, the Neet challenging him is a mean SOB and is 1/4 his size.
