Hey there

So i just finished my new DIY tank and everything is running smoothly, my aro is about 7-9 inches (the bugger never stops moving). Anyways i been hearing some people say that if you have a bright sand, like white, that it will hurt the aros colors. What are your guys' thoughts on this? Also what sand would you recomend?

Silver aro, substrate color will have very little to do with it's coloration.

Thats what i figured. Cant remember exactly where i heard it but they claimed the white substrate would reflect and hurt the scales or something crazy lol

Don't think either would be like natural habitat, personally I like the look of PFS though I don't use sand.Here is a good thread to check out, shows lots of tanks with black or white sand; http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/f...White-or-Black-Sand-Please-show-me-your-tanks!!!!!

Kinda new to these forums, PFS being painted bottom? If you put rocks directly ontop wouldnt that damage/scratch the bottom?
