Hey guys here's the deal.. My newest love is Champsochromis Caeruleus..I've heard its hard to breed them and I know they're fairly rare so I'm up for the challenge.. I've spent the last 6 months trying very hard to get as many as I could. I have a 11" male, 8-9" female, 7" male, (2) 7" females, and a sh#tload of smaller unsexables. I bought a 265 gallon tank with the intention to keep it as a showtank and try to get the champsochromis' to breed. Unfortunately they havent bred in there and I think its because I have so many other fish packed in there..so recently I bought a 75 gallon tank and put everything in the 75 except the champsochromis. So now the Champs have a 265 gallon tank all to themselves in my livingroom..unfortunately my g/f and roomies dont like having a "showtank" in the livingroom with just 1 type of fish in there, especially since only 1 of them is really colored up. Champsochromis dont get color (in my experience) until they are at least 8". Anyways here are 4 pictures.first 2 are of tank before taking out all of the other haps/peacocks and last 2 are of the how the tank now stands..4th pic is of my biggest female. Let me know if you think I'm doing the right thing by keeping my big livingroom tank just champsochromis.

Nice group of Trout ya got there... Hope you have luck!!! :)

after looks alot brighter and better tell gf and roomies to buy there own monster tank its yours do what you like with it

ah yes i forgot to mention it has new lighting. Thanks for the opinions, keep them coming!

What type of filtration is that? I've been lookin for various types of filtration, most bang for my buck....so any light would be great as thats a large tank and looks very well filtered!! ;)

Good luck on breeding them, but in the future after this accomplishment, what about a species which gets color at around 2" instead of 8". and yea, if your G/f or roomates complain tell them to either A ) get their own 265 gallon setup, or B) watch tv, and dont look at the 1 species...

Thanks for the responses guys!
JustLooking - Yes your exactly right. I have an Fx5, Xp3, and emp400..good eye.
AquataHolic420 - Yeah these guys actually get 18" when full grown! Your probably right though about getting smaller fish in the future.. I just love these guys! I told them I'll give it 2 months and if there is no breeding i'll add some colorful fish.
Thanks for the responses
Ryan
