"Oh, I’ve got an absolute ton of stuff, man, I got three notebooks of ideas from the past year and a half alone. It’s so great, I think we’re gonna do something really different with this album. Different, but brutal." - Corey Taylor

"It's going to be heavy as ****! It's going to be heavier than 'Vol. 3...' but just as weird and as experimental. We have a whole bunch of song titles, but nothing I wanna say right now." - Joey

"It's going to rip your face off...I don't think the world will be ready for this album." - Corey

"...done by a bunch of crazy guys in their 30s. That doesn't mean we're slowing down or not as intense — our brains are different, so we're bringing different emotions, different feelings and different anxieties to the table now. This record is another diagnosis of our insanity." - Shawn

"I think it's the best thing I've ever made." - Corey

I've listened to the song All hope is gone, Real new sound, first listen "I'm not sure about this" second listen "THIS OWNS!!!!" and dad was like "turn that sh*t off!" but unfortunately roadrunner records had to make the song only last 24 hours... and I listened to it in the last 14 mins....

so yeah, I'm pretty excited for the album.

Hopefully it's better than Volume 3. Slipknot...accoustic...sell-outs.

Accoustic means sellout....? No way. Though far different than their norm, it was still good. Their music is based solely on emotion, whatever that emotion may be at the time. It's obvious they're growing older with the different sounds, that's just life, not selling out.....more growing up. I can't wait to hear it.

F that. The moment their masks came out to the public, Slipknot was no more. I believe it was Shaun that once said, once the masks are removed there isn't Slipknot anymore. The whole Stone Sour thing was crap. I honestly think that Vol. 3 is super soft compared to their other releases. I think Vol. 3 was their low, they have no where else to go but up from there.

Like I said...growing up. I've found myself growing (musically) in the same way they have. When I was younger (probably closer to your age :D) I was all about nothing but the hardest I could hear. Over the years I've opened up to the varieties. I don't mind Stone Sour one bit....but then again, I have an appreciation for more than just a straight line of music.

Uhhh I listen to all sorts of music. So no, I don't just listen to one genre and stick to it.

I've listened to Slipknot since before their release of their self-titled debut. Hell I still have my original copy of Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. And I can honestly say that Volume 3 was more, radio friendly, so to speak than their other releases. Which is fine, it brings in new fan base. Hell I still hear a few songs off that cd on the radio. I just have an opinion against that cd. And in MY opinion they sold out from their origins. The moment Slipknot removed their masks, they lost some respect from me. And honestly IMO, Stone Sour rode on Slipknots success. They were an unknown local band in Illinois until Corey Taylor joined back into the band.

Oh well.

Definately more radio friendly. I will agree with that for sure. How many bands stay true to their origins, though? Honestly, I agree with you, but have learned to accept that all bands change to a questionable point, especially the ones with the "edge" Slipknot has. I think that's why it's harder to accept. As far as Stone Sour, the number one seller of a band is their lead vocalist. Seriously. Especially when played on the radio. And I truly appreciate Corey Taylor's vocals for their raspy difference. To be even more honest, Vol 3 and Stone Sour have a major overlap in sound. So if you didn't like one, you weren't really going to like either. Like all music, it's personal preference. I do hope this one shows a little more rage than 3, though.

Man, just downloaded All Hope is Gone...that is brutal. Awesome guitar tracks! Being a drummer myself, Joey J always leaves me speechless!

Yea Joey is CRAZY on drums. He runs like 8 miles or whatever before concerts. Have you seen his drum solo off of their first dvd? When I first saw that I was like "holy crap".
