Anybody know of an excellent bang-for-buck filter for a 285 gallon tank setup. I already have a FX5 but the general consensus is that is not going to be enough.

Has anyone had much luck with a pond pump system?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

the fx5 is rated at 400 gallons. that pump should be plenty unless you have the tank overstocked. if you want more i would just make a diy sump out of a 40 gallon tank or bigger. for my 240 gallon that i just got im going to have a fx5 and a 45 gallon sump

If you want something that's SWEET get a bead filter. like a aqua ultra they are not cheap and you still need to buy a pump but they are beasts as far as filters go.
