in the river
i have an empty 29 gal tank and i want a reptile that will get a decent size not to large not to small that will do well in a 29 gal...i can add "cage add on" to the top if need be to make it a lil bit taller like 8" add on for hieght...let me know what yall think...and would prefer that the reptile is able to be tamed well...like i can cruise with it outside the house kine.

I'd only suggest a ball python if it was a male. Females get too large for the floor space of a 29-gal, and they would rarely climb and take advantage of the height.

However, a number of other snakes would do okay in a tank that size:
most US ratsnakes
kingsnake or milksnake
hognose snake
sand boa
rosy boa
pacific boas (Candoia genus)

Some lizard suggestions:
mt horned dragon
collared lizard
fire skink
Schnieders (berbers) skink
yellow-lined plated lizard

id seriously go with a pair of leopard geckos,or two tokay geckos:headbang2

Leopard geckos...I'll admit that they are easy and tame, but there's so many other choices as well.

And did you read? He said he was lookign for somethng that can be tamed well, so I think Tokays are out.

definatley no tokay(there motto happens to be "bite the hand that feeds"...as i hear it anyways)...how about blue tegu...dont really want snakes as they are illegal and probably will eat or native birds if every escaped...keep the ideas coming

i guess i could house a pair or tokays then ya...maybe a matting pair.

But didn't you say you wanted something you could handle? I mean, I'm not telling you not to get tokays, but they have a pretty well-deserved reputation of being mean as heck and rarely tameable.

sorry i meant leopards...a breading pair of leopard maybe...haha my bad
