Hey, I got a new 29G tank and I was thinking of setting it up. I was thinking of getting a Dwarf Lion-- Can I set that up pretty much like a FOWLR tank. Protein skimmer? filter? live rock and sand? powerheads? or is it different? I know he needs stuff to hide behind and also open space to swim in so thats what i'm aiming for. Also is there anything else i'd be able to add? maybe a snowflake eel? and i'd have to get rid of him if he got to big or move him to another tank. Any other ideas????

you can setup the tank just like a FOWLR you can do a sump or Fuge as well a snowflake would be fine but will get too big for a 29 gallon you could keep him there for awhile but move him once he start's getting to big. You can house different kind's of wrasse's, blennies, some gobies just depend's on what your looking to add.

Should probably stay away from a Dwarf Lion for a 29 gallon

dwarf lion will do fine in the 29 gallon just gotta make sure water quality is good and your protein skimmer is sufficient for the bio load.

heres my fuzzy dwarf in my 30 gal. its a great fish, full of personallity.

you will be fine with one, just keep an eye on your water. if it stars to look sad, instant water change...

i have 22lbs of LR in my tank. i run a fluval 405 external (nitrite factory i know :)) with just the sponge, 2 powerheads for extra flow, and i have a V2 120 nano skimmer on there too. i was running the tank without the skimmer since last year, but i was given it the other day, so it went in. if i didnt have it, i'd just do more water changes.

i do have corals with my lion, i also have a longnose hawkfish, and some snails and hermits. so you can have a 'reef tank with a lionfish', but i dont rate the chances of any shrimps that go in.

ive had a FD lion, before this one. but it went on hunger strike and died while i was on holiday. some do this. ask to see the lion eat before you take it home. the first one wasnt exactly shoveling it down.

this one is though, it goes metal for brine shimp :)
