Alright, so I just bought two flowerhorns and a red oscar, both are small and only about 1 inch, so can't really eat feeder fish or big pellets yet so I been feeding them flakes but the oscar can eat eat the small cichlids pellets because it has a bigger mouth.

So, I was wondering will this work out in a 29 gallon tank?

water and decoration including gravel is good, they seem to enjoy it but I know that when they grow up, they'll need more space and 100% will kill each other, but I think the oscar will die first because there is two flowerhorn.

I mean, will the growth be stunt?

when I choosed the flowerhorns, I asked the guy if it will grow and he say yes, it depends on the water quality and not really the tank size.

he said 25-150 gallon is fine for flowerhorn depends on the size.

my flowerhorn is only 1 inch and it's in a 29 gallon, so will it grow?

i'll be changing water weekly 10%

If you "know they'll 100% kill each other and the oscar will die first" why did you get them? Sounds like you did some research but went with it anyway. Impulse buy? I say return the oscar for smaller pellets to feed the flowerhorns or return the two flowerhorns.

10% wc weekly won't be enough....10% wc daily in that small tank may help.

They will grow regardless of what tank size you put them in, but they will also kill each other before long as you have also stated. A 29g won't be good for long for any of these fish. Really you should take back a flowerhorn and an oscar now and then plan on upgrading your tank soon.

Also, #1, 10% weekly is far from enough. Oscars make a ton of waste and are sensitive to it. #2 Don't ever feed oscars feeders. Bad idea. There are no health benefits to it and eventually you will buy a sick feeder and you will then pass on the disease to your oscar.

So, during lunar new year I am sure that I will get more than 100$ and the 55 gallon tank is onsale for $100, almost $100 off. So yeah.

So you guys want me to return just the oscar or the oscar and the flowerhorn and keep 1 flowerhorn for this 29 gallon tank?

and then when I bought the 55 gallon tank, I'll buy a another oscar?

and again, this guy only has a 20 gallon tank and his flowerhorn grow to 8 inches.

Reply: Well, can the two baby flowerhorn live in the 29 galon tank for a little bit together without fighting?

i mean the two flowerhorn and the oscar is fine now, but they're baby. but they will fight for more space soon, so i'll return the oscar. but what about the flowerhorn? how long can they stay with each other?

the oscar is a little bit bigger but sometimes got chase by both flowerhorn, and sometimes the flowerhorn doesn't chase it.

and also, the flowerhorn is currently 1 inch, so a fry and i don't know what kind of fh, because at petco and petsmart sell random flowerhorn, but it's mostly red dragon or kamfa at those stores.

so at what inch will they start fighting?

Could be anytime. But even if they didn't fight for a while do not get or keep an oscar. Even if u had one in a 100g tank on its own it will make it filthy fast and it'll end up getting hole in the head disease which is nasty. By no means a beginner fish. They need a lot of room and a lot of maintenance.

I would just keep the flowerhorn. It'll need the 55 at least on its own. An oscar will grow to 12" plus within a year and you'll be water changing your life away.

Go with Skalper666's advice. If you can get a bigger tank, even better...don't forget, you'll need filtration.

is filtration

reply: what is filtration

and I already took care of the oscar, just staying cold in the freezer, I'll return it tomorrow. so now it's just the two flowerhorn, it's healthy.

so, now. How long can they stay with each other? 1 inch is fry, so about 2-3 inches? that when they get aggressive according to some websites.
