I work at a small pet store and was getting ready to purchase a 29 gallon tank for some red bellys and was wondering if that would be a good idea and how many i could keep in there???

you can't keep any in there for life... if you plan on moving them into a larger tank, a few small natts could spend a very short amount of time in a 29. if you want some natts, you're gonna want to look into a much larger tank.

hmm well crap

i can actually get a 55g but how many could i keep in there?

also are those pretty agrresive fish like the reds?

29 gallon use it to grow them up to about half dollar then invest in a larger tank .i would purchase 9 of em cuz you will lose some along the way ,also raise em on high quality pellets no [gold fish ],strong filtering is a must weelky water changes you shouyld be fine for couple months they grow fast .

i only want like 4 so could i keep them in my 29g for a short while then move them to the 55?

if you really want a shoal of natts, i would suggest looking into a 75 gallon tank, if you can't go that big, i think you'd be better off with a solo serra such as a sanchezi, mac, eigenmanni, or irritans.

if you do end up getting the natts, i think that buying a 29 to start them off in would be pointless, they would outgrow that tank in a few weeks... you'd be better off throwing them into their permanent tank right off the bat.
