This will be my first real planted tank. My question is will this be to much light. I have the light sitting in my closet its a 10000 k i know a 6700k would be bettter but this bulb is new so i thought id give it a try. Any info would be great .
Thanks Ian

If you manage your water parameters and fertilizer well enough, i wouldnt see any problems with too much lighting. But metal halides do give out alot of heat and you might require a chiller if you intend to grow the more demanding plants.
